Borut Popenko - Pingo

Pingo (Maribor, 1969) graduated with the thesis Colour and the Plastics of Form in 1993 at the Pedagogical Faculty, University of Maribor. In the years 1995 and 1996, he was a guest student at the Burg Giebichenstein Kunstochschule (University of Art and Design) in Halle, Germany, and finished the studies of specialization in painting in 1997. As a guest student, he also visited the School of Fine Arts in Athens (1998/99) and Art Academy in Prague (in 2001). Pingo is a Maribor artist, present in Pekarna since the beggining. He creates in various visual media (painting, photography, video and installations in space). His work represents the continuity of basic ideas and visual arts principles.
